Our campaign is based in seattle. Kevin is playing an orc and I'm a human cat shaman. Let me go into story mode to make it more interesting hehe.
Wow, what a day! You know those days that you look back on and just shake your head at, not really knowing how it all happened but really glad it turned out alright? Well, that's where I am right now.
I started out my day as usual, headed down to Wired for Sound. My favourite hangout, it's a coffee shop that doubles as a jazz bar after the sun goes down.
There I am, sipping my tea in the mornin' sunshine. I like to people watch from the patio deck when it's nice out. Nothing like watchin' the world go by while the sun warms your fur, I mean skin, heh... I catch a glimpse of a pretty blonde headed down the street towards me, and fast! I wonder what she's running from and then I see the bunch comin' down on her, closin fast, three great big lugs. One of the orcs is carrying right big-ass club. I figure that's not very fair and decide to have a bit of fun. Glancing around to make sure no one's really paying attention, I start casting suggestion on the guy with the big stick. It's probably best that he try to pick on someone his own size, like, oh let's see, his friend running beside him. Eeehehehe, as much as I love watching thugs go to town on each other, my attention flickers back to the woman, thinking of the third orc that should be closing in on her soon.
Oh look! I'm not the only good samaritan today :) A nice gentleman decided to accidentally plant his fist in orc #3's face. I watch admiringly as his handiwork allows the frantic woman escape around the corner of the next street. I figure if she's smart enough, she'll be able to use the head start we've gave her to escape nicely. As Mr. Nice Guy walks by, I give him a wink and tell him "Nice moves.", he smiles and keeps on goin'.
I finish my tea and figure it's high time to check my messages. Creds are gettin kinda low, might as well see if dude's got some work for me. Would you look at that, there's an extraction job coming up. Should be fun! Time to go get pretty for my meeting at the space needle.
I saunter in to the diner at the top of the needle and glance around. I'm pretty sure the suits in the corner booth are who I'm looking for as the rest of the place is empty except for, oh hey, it's my friend, Mr. Nice Guy drinking at the bar! I go sit down with the suits and order a drink. To my surprise, Mr. Nice Guy heads over as well. I figure, good enough, I already know he's got a few scruples at least.
We get the instructions for the extraction job, a decker... Bleh, don't know how they can put all that crap in their bodies ::shivers:: I can't say I'll ever be at risk for burning myself out. The idea of having extra spare parts kicking around my body right creeps me out!
Mr. Nice Guy, whose name is Hank I learn, and I head down the elevator together after negotiating a price for the decker. As we get to the street and prepare to go our separate ways to gear up for the job, who should step out from behind a street car but Orc #2 and some new friends. I guess wailing on his buddy with that stick just wasn't good enough, he's gotta cause crap for the rest of the world too... Good gods, I hate assholes.
Hank's pretty handy to have around, I found out. Orc #2 got a up-close and personal look through the window of the pretty pink caddy we happened to be standing beside. The spirit I summoned made short work of the others, remind me to never piss off a phone booth... Ouch is all I have to say for them two orcs heh.
